I am obsessed with wall words. I know they can be tacky if over used but I just adore the idea of putting something really special in words for you see every day. We have wall words in our living room and they words were picked out very carefully with a lot of thought, seeing them makes me very happy. I saw these on amazon and thought to myself how beautiful for a baby's nursery or a toddler's room.
Trying to live a simpler more organized way of life with a little decorating OCD tossed in.

Gotta live up to the Blog's Name!
So with a name like Operation Decrapification I feel like I should have a post or two about cleaning and decluttering (also a good excuse to add a bit more text to my brand spanking new blog lol)
A few week backs I was suffering from Kitchen envy while scanning through some photos of newly remodeled home eateries.
My kitchen isn’t awful but it’s not great either. The cabinets are from the 1930’s and have been painted so many times, I just couldn’t fathom sanding and doing them again. So we added come crown molding a while back and painted it a white that didn’t match UGH! We added new countertops and some lighting . You can bet when (WHEN) I hit the lotto I will be single handedly ripping out my own kitchen!
Ok so anyway, one thing I really admired in these fancy new kitchens was the clean and organized drawers. Mine were so full I couldn’t even see the nasty disgusting bottom of the drawers. It truly was gnarly!
So I emptied everything out of the two utensil drawers and went to town sorting. I tossed almost an entire drawer full of gadgets that I never used….I hate gadgets!
Then I needed to tackle the gross inside of the drawers (see I told you they were nasty). We had just painted the living room and I had 10 samples of different shades of blue paint on my counter top…do you see what I am going with this.. I opened up 3 of them and dumped them right into the drawer, then with my brush I painted the drawer. Ahhhhhh, seriously, so fresh and clean. The change was huge for me, I actually felt better!
I went on and did 3 more drawers and my pantry cabinet but I still have more cabinet work to do. What I wouldn’t give for a cheapo kitchen redo. You know the Ikea ones or the Kraftmaid from Home Depot kind. I might even consider bartering my kidney for a spanking new fresh kitchen…..no, I would definitely consider it!

Kid Friendly Project
No matter how done my kid's rooms look, they are always a work in progress. I adore their rooms, I even love cleaning their rooms!! Go ahead, call me a freak :) Anyway, since I have yet to discover the tree that grows money all my projects for their bedrooms and the rest of my house are super budget friendly.
I saw this clock wall idea a few times but the cheapest clocks I could find were $10.00 each and I just didn't love this project enough to spend that. Then I found these wall clocks at Target for $3.99 each.. SCORE!! Oh, and they come in silver, pink, green, blue, black, and white. I nabbed 4 of them in silver (wish I got green though!), then a quick stop at Home Depot to have 4 pcs of wood cut to 4.5" in length (I should have gone with 6-7" but I need to let that go and resist the urge to go back and have new ones cut)
My little darling sanded and painted them with chalk board paint that I already had and on the wall they went. Pretty cute huh? He thinks it's very cool and that is all that matters to me!
Oh and the total cost of this little ditty?? $24.00!!! Yeeeee Hawwww!!

DIY Weekend- Recovering Dining Room Chairs
I was gifted this very pretty country style dining room set last year and while I love it, the seat cushions were a light cream color and between kids and daily use I knew that color would not fly for me. Not to mention I saw an opportunity to add a splash of color by recovering them...soooooooo I recovered them 3 months ago, three chairs..yup, that's all I got done were three chair. The material stunk! it's faded and wore just terribly, I think I got burnt out on it and just let the chair situation fall by the wayside. Fast forward to Friday night when I spotted this green damask like pattern and I immediately fell in love, like I actually felt my heart go pitter-pat, I may have gasped I just don't know but I love it!! Ok I said that already lol
I bought it with my 40% coupon from Joanne's then I hoped and prayed my helpful and hand husband would be open to a little weekend project with me. He is awesome that way !
This little project literally took us an hour..yup that’s it! ONE hour! He did the unscrewing and reattaching and I did all the recovering of the cushions. We make a rockin' team that way! awwww..
And the cost..oh the cost..get ready for this...$43.53!! That is all it cost me for 6 chairs!!! with enough fabric left over for replacement covers in case of any mishaps.
I did two other projects this weekend, one was recovering a bench seat in my hallway, that was simple and barely worth mentioning but I might post a pic anyway to show off the pretty fabric :) The other was a clock wall project in Joe’s room which he helped with that one is really cool and really inexpensive! I will definitely be posting that one later.
